As evaluators, we look at two things:
1: the difference that your project, programme or activity has made and to whom. Why did it matter? Who benefitted? What difference did it make to them? What would have been lost if the project hadn't gone ahead?
2: the process behind making that difference. What worked? What didn't work? What would you do differently next time?
What we find is captured through informal sharing and formal reporting.
Evaluation begins with a clear plan of the difference your project or programme should make and to whom - what will your 'story of change' look like? We help clients to clearly articulate their vision, so that it becomes central to their project and their thinking.
We believe in 'experiencing, observing, learning' in a continual learning cycle throughout your project. Evaluation will help you to capture lessons learnt and to apply recommendations to continually improve your project.
What does it all add up to? Your funders will want to know that their investment has made a difference. Evaluation measures and demonstrates that difference, and helps you to unlock future funding by proving your track record.
Your project's legacy is important. Good evaluation will help you identify the activities that have made the most impact, so that you can make evidence-based decisions about how your project will continue beyond its initial funding period.
